How can we help?
Licenses
- Lost your key? It's in the email from Polar, and always in your Polar account.
- New Mac? In Winq on the old Mac: Settings → License → Deactivate. Or deactivate it from your Polar account if the old Mac is gone. Then activate on the new one.
- Offline? Winq keeps working for 7 days between license checks.
Permissions
- Open Winq Settings → Permissions. Each permission shows its state and the fix.
- Switch is on but Winq says it's missing? That entry is from an older copy. Use Reset & ask again.
- Focus still not switching after allowing? macOS applies it after a relaunch: use Restart Winq.
Accuracy
- Sitting lower, higher or in another chair? Menu bar → Re-centre Gaze: look at the dot in the middle of each screen, about two seconds each.
- Recalibrate from the menu bar after moving your screens or camera. Sit naturally; don't exaggerate.
- Good, even light on your face helps the most. Avoid a bright window behind you.
- Glasses are fine; strong reflections make Winq lean on your head more than your eyes.
- Overlapping windows: only the part you can see counts, and the window on top wins where it's unclear.
- Live view shows exactly what Winq sees, and where it thinks you look.
Settings file
Every setting lives in one plain file you can change in the Settings window or your editor: ~/Library/Application Support/Winq/config.toml (Settings → General → Show in Finder). It holds every threshold, such as settle time, keyboard idle time and mouse guard. If the file has a mistake, Winq tells you and never overwrites it.
Uninstall
Settings → General → Uninstall Winq removes the app, its settings and its permissions, and frees your license seat.
